Templates eliminate the blank-page problem. Instead of starting from scratch, you start from a proven starting point. The Template Gallery brings together pre-built workflows, project structures, skill configurations, and automation blueprints that have been built and tested by Skynet’s team and the broader community. You browse, you pick, you customize, and you ship.
What Templates Are
In Skynet, a template is a pre-configured blueprint that captures a complete working setup. That could be a multi-step workflow, a project structure with defined goals and milestones, a skill tuned for a specific task, or a connector configuration mapped for a popular tool combination.
Templates are not static scripts. They are living starting points. Each one encodes domain expertise and best practices so you do not have to reinvent the wheel every time you start something new. A sales outreach template carries proven email sequences, timing logic, and follow-up rules. A data analysis template carries the right model selection, filtering steps, and output format. The knowledge of the person who built it travels with the template.
How Templates Make Your Life Easier
This is where the value compounds. Templates are not just a convenience. They fundamentally change how fast your team moves and how consistently it produces results.
Save Time
A workflow that would take 3 hours to build from scratch is ready in 30 seconds. Your team spends time on outcomes, not setup.
Reduce Errors
Pre-tested templates have already been validated. You avoid common configuration mistakes and edge cases the template author already solved.
Encode Best Practices
Templates built by domain experts carry their expertise. A sales outreach template encodes proven email sequences, timing, and follow-up logic.
Standardize Across Teams
Every team member uses the same template structure. Outputs are consistent, comparable, and auditable.
Lower the Barrier
Non-technical users deploy sophisticated automations without understanding the underlying complexity. No-code accessibility means anyone on your team can contribute.
Accelerate Onboarding
New hires can be productive immediately. They use established templates rather than learning the system from zero.
Enable Iteration
Templates are starting points, not rigid scripts. You customize, extend, and adapt them to your specific needs.
The 300x Efficiency Principle
Skynet’s parallel sub-agent architecture filters irrelevant data before passing it to the main model. A template that processes 1,000 LinkedIn profiles can reduce the data to only the relevant fields, cutting context usage and cost by up to 300x. Templates built on this principle are not just faster to deploy. They are fundamentally more efficient to run.
Template Categories
The gallery is organized into six categories so you can find what you need quickly.
Workflow Templates
Pre-built automation flows for common business processes. These templates define a sequence of steps, triggers, and actions that execute end to end. Examples include lead qualification pipelines, meeting follow-up sequences, and automated report generation.
Project Templates
Pre-structured project setups with defined goals, tasks, and milestones. These templates give your team a ready-made framework so everyone knows what needs to happen and in what order. Use them to standardize how projects are initiated across your organization.
Skill Templates
Pre-configured skills for specific tasks. These include email drafting, data analysis, report generation, document summarization, and more. A skill template comes with the right model selection, prompt structure, and output format already tuned. You apply it, connect your data, and it works.
Integration Templates
Pre-mapped connector configurations for popular tool combinations. Instead of manually configuring how Skynet connects to your email, calendar, CRM, and project management tools, an integration template handles the mapping for you. It defines which data flows where, what triggers what, and how the tools stay in sync.
Industry Templates
Templates tailored for specific industries. Healthcare, finance, legal, retail, and more. These templates account for industry-specific workflows, compliance considerations, and output formats. They are built by people who understand the domain and encode that understanding into the template structure.
Role Templates
Templates designed for specific roles within an organization. Sales, marketing, HR, engineering, operations. A role template bundles the workflows, skills, and integrations that a person in that role is most likely to need. It is a role-specific starter kit.
Browsing the Gallery
Finding the right template takes seconds.

Applying a Template
Once you find a template that fits your use case, applying it is straightforward.
Select the template
from the gallery to open its detail page.
Review the description, requirements, and configuration options
Make sure you have the necessary connectors and permissions in place.
Click "Apply Template"
to import it into your workspace.
Customize the template's parameters
to match your specific needs. Adjust inputs, outputs, timing, thresholds, and conditions.
Save and activate
the customized template.
Customizing Templates
Templates are flexible starting points. Once applied, you have full control to adapt them.
Modify parameters, inputs, and outputs
to match your data sources and desired results.
Add or remove steps
in a workflow to fit your process.
Adjust timing, thresholds, and conditions
to control when and how the automation fires.
Rename and reorganize
components to match your team's terminology and conventions.
Save your customizations as a new personal or team template
so the next person does not have to start from the original.
Customization is where templates become truly powerful. You get the speed of a pre-built foundation and the flexibility of a purpose-built solution.
Contributing Templates
Templates get better when teams share what works.
- Any team member can save a working configuration as a template.
- Templates can be shared within a team, across departments, or organization-wide.
- Enterprise admins can publish templates to the org-wide gallery, making them available to everyone in the organization.
- Community templates are reviewed for quality and security before they are published to the public gallery.
When your team builds a workflow that works, save it as a template. The next person who faces the same problem starts from your solution instead of from zero. This is how organizational knowledge compounds over time.
Template Quality and Security
Every template in the gallery is reviewed before it is published. Here is how safety is maintained:
All templates are reviewed
for quality, correctness, and security before publishing.
Templates respect existing permission structures and access controls
A template cannot access data the user does not have permission to see.
No template can escalate permissions
beyond the user's existing scope.
Enterprise admins can approve, restrict, or disable templates
across the organization.
Template Gallery vs. Building from Scratch
Both approaches have their place. Here is how to decide.
| Dimension | Template Gallery | Build from Scratch |
|---|---|---|
| Time to deploy | Minutes | Hours to days |
| Expertise required | Minimal | Deep domain knowledge |
| Customization | Moderate to high | Full |
| Best for | Common workflows, standard processes | Unique, specialized, or proprietary workflows |
| Risk | Low (pre-tested) | Higher (untested) |
| Onboarding speed | Immediate | Gradual |
The right answer is usually both. Start with a template to get moving fast. Customize it to fit your needs. If no template exists for your use case, build from scratch and then save your work as a template for the next person.
Best Practices
Getting the most from templates comes down to a few habits.
Start with a template, then customize.
Resist the urge to build from scratch when a close match exists.
Review template inputs before activating.
Make sure the data sources and parameters are correct for your environment.
Share your best templates with the team.
What works for you likely works for others.
Keep templates updated as your processes evolve.
A stale template is worse than no template.
Use industry templates as a baseline, not a final solution.
They give you a strong foundation, but every organization has unique requirements.
FAQ
Yes. Once a template is applied to your workspace, it becomes yours. You can modify any parameter, add or remove steps, and save the modified version as a new template.
Browsing and applying templates is included with your Skynet plan. Running a template consumes credits based on the models and connectors it uses, just like any other automation.
Yes. Any working configuration in your workspace can be saved as a template. You can keep it personal, share it with your team, or publish it organization-wide if you have admin permissions.
Templates that require specific connectors will list those dependencies in the preview. If a connector is not available in your workspace, the template will indicate what is needed before you apply it.
The template remains in your workspace but will not execute until the connector is reconnected. Skynet will notify you of the disconnection so you can restore the connection.
Community templates are available to all Skynet users. Organization-specific templates remain private to your enterprise unless explicitly published to the public gallery by an admin.
