Connect Google Meet
Integrate video conferencing directly into Skynet. This guide covers setup, key features, and troubleshooting so your team can meet without switching contexts.
Begin Setup | Explore Features
Overview
The Google Meet integration links your calendar and video conferencing directly with Skynet. Instead of toggling between applications to schedule, join, and document meetings, you manage everything from a single interface.
Centralized scheduling
Create and edit meetings inside Skynet with Google Meet links generated automatically.
Bi-directional sync
Calendar updates in either system are reflected in both to prevent double-booking.
Unified records
Keep meeting links, notes, and outcomes attached to the same record for full context.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, confirm the following:
- An active Skynet account with permissions to manage integrations
- A Google account (personal or Google Workspace) with Google Meet enabled
- Administrative approval to install third-party apps, if your organization restricts Google Workspace integrations
- A modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari) with cookies and JavaScript enabled
Step-by-Step Setup
Complete the connection in a few minutes.
Open Integration Settings
In Skynet, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Video Conferencing.
Select Google Meet
Click Connect beside the Google Meet option.
Authenticate with Google
You will be redirected to Google’s sign-in screen. Enter the credentials for the account you wish to link, then click Next.
Grant Permissions
Review the access request. Ensure permissions for Calendar and Google Meet are enabled, then click Allow.
Verify the Connection
Return to Skynet. The status indicator next to Google Meet should display Connected. If it does not, refresh the page or retry the steps above.
Key Features
What you can do after connecting Google Meet.
Calendar Sync
Automatically publish events from Skynet to your Google Calendar with a unique Google Meet link. Rescheduling or canceling in either system updates the other instantly. Benefit: Eliminates duplicate data entry and reduces missed meetings.
Auto-Join
At the scheduled time, join the meeting with one click from your Skynet dashboard or notification. There is no need to search through emails or calendar invites for the link. Benefit: Saves time and ensures punctual attendance.
Meeting Notes
Attach structured notes, decisions, and action items directly to the meeting record inside Skynet. Everything remains linked to the original calendar event. Benefit: Creates a single source of truth for meeting outcomes.
Resolve common issues quickly.
Troubleshooting
Solution: Confirm that your Google account is permitted to install third-party apps. Workspace users may need their administrator to enable the app in the Google Admin console. Clear your browser cache and attempt the connection again.
Solution: Verify that Calendar access was granted during authentication. In Skynet, open Settings > Integrations and confirm that the Calendar Sync toggle is on. Re-authenticate if needed.
Solution: Auto-Join links generate for events created after the integration is active. Existing events will not retroactively receive links. For recurring meetings, edit the series to generate a new link.
Solution: Ensure you are adding notes to a synced event record and that you have edit permissions in Skynet. If the linked calendar event was deleted, the note may need to be re-associated.
